The 97th season league history begins Sunday from the place where the seed was first planted — Canton, Ohio.

Culminating the enshrinement festivities of the 2016 class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday will be the Hall of Fame game between the Packers and Colts, beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern time Sunday. The game will be seen on ESPN, as NBC is taking a quadrennial break from the game due to coverage of the Olympics.

Referee Jerome Boger will lead a mixed crew in the exhibition game.

Update: The game was cancelled after a field-maintenance issue. At the conclusion of the induction ceremonies in the same stadium, the grounds crew repainted the logos on the field. Then, they used equipment to dry the paint, which caused the artificial surface to melt into gooey clumps. Since this has a propensity to cause injury, the game was cancelled by order of the commissioner. Boger and his crew were already in uniform for the game.
