Dominique Pender has the Call of the Week in week 3.
A veteran call with the game in the balance is our Call of the Week — except the call actually comes from an official in his second NFL game.
Side judge Dominque Pender, working as a rookie swing official this season, was faced with seemingly minor contact and threw a flag for defensive pass interference. This would have been a fourth-down game-deciding incomplete pass, so the foul really has to be there to continue the drive, and Pender called it decisively, as if the game wasn’t on the line.
