It is the final week of preseason; one last chance for officials to work out the new mechanics of the kickoff rules before the season starts.

Duane Heydt will get a tryout at the referee position in Cincinnati on Thursday night. Heydt is in his third season in the NFL, working at the umpire position. He was a referee in the Atlantic Coast Conference and headed the officiating crew in the National Championship Game between Georgia and Alabama in January 2022. He worked a wild card playoff game (and was an alternate for a divisional playoff game) in his only season he was eligible for an NFL playoff assignment. Heydt will be working with John Hussey’s crew with Hussey working the game as an observer, a reversal of Hussey’s role from the 2014 preseason before he was elevated to the referee position.

All times are Eastern. Live games on NFL Network will be blacked out and telecast on local stations in both teams’ markets. (In some blackouts, a game scheduled to air on tape delay game will be aired live on NFL Network as a substitute game.) All games are available live on NFL+.

The 2024 officiating crews are listed here, but note that there may be substitutions from the regular crew personnel each week.
