Football Zebras has obtained the officiating crews for the second season of the United Football League and the sixth spring football season of the recent leagues.
The UFL uses the NFL’s 7-person mechanics and has 52 officials from the Football Bowl Subdivision conferences on eight crews, two less than last season. An additional four officials from the NFL will work on one of those crews. The league will follow NFL rules generally, with specific modifications most notably on touchdown conversions and the overtime shootout.
Many of the officials have been scouted by the NFL under its Mackie Development Program, and the NFL suggests officials for the UFL to consider rostering.
Officials are listed by their position and number with their current college conference. Assignments for last season’s bowl games, all-star games, and conference championships are listed (alternates are not shown, except for the all-star games). The number of seasons in the Mackie Development Program, and in a spring pro league are indicated, which includes any UFL, AAF, USFL, or XFL roster position plus this season. (The NFL officiating department declined to provide a roster for the MDP program in recent years, which may affect some totals.)
